Day 2 – July 18 2006
Not many photos today but that’s just because we plan on having a TON over the next few days. Today was a day at sea and we basically just relaxed and hung around the ship (not that we had much choice).
We started the day with a buffet breakfast and then Adam and Susan went and played around in the casino (entered the slot tournament and quickly lost), while Kevin went swimming and played dodgeball. After that we decided to go to a presentation about all the upcoming “shopping opportunities” at each port. The gal giving the presentation told us how to get all sorts of free goodies at each port and we look forward to getting whatever we can get. Ketchikan has lots of stores and shops, so it should be lots of fun.
We then went to check out the art auction which had lots and lot familiar artwork that we’d seen on the previous cruise but we didn’t really see anything that jumped out at us. We stayed to see who would bid on what, but the art auction isn’t that high on the list for us this cruise. We will probably go to the final art auction whenever that will be to see if they bring out anything new.
We went for lunch and then played some Bingo! No luck there either – but it was still lots of fun. Then it was back to the cabin to get ready for formal night! We got all gussied up and got some nice formal photos taken.
Click on that photo for a larger version. It was hard to pick out which photos from the Formal night to purchase but we chose this one. There will be another Formal night later in the cruise as well.
Time for dinner in the main restaurant and the food was excellent! Then it was time for the Glenn Hirsch main show! He was very entertaining and we had a good time. Next we saw a show called Tribute! It has the Coral Princess Dancers and they did an excellent job.
Time to retire a little early tonight. Tomorrow we need to be up at 5am for a very early shore excursion in Ketchikan!
