December 27 – Alter Do Chao (AM) Brazil
Here is our Blog entry for the day:
We arrived early at this port but, like last port, we were told there wasn’t really much to do so we didn’t head to shore until late morning. When we go to the tender it was all backed up for “refueling” and we had to wait about 45 minutes just to get off the ship. People were complaining and they never told us why there was a delay and they didn’t even really seem to care.
Cindy decided that between the standing around and the heat it was going to be too much for her so she went back to the room. The rest of us eventually made it to shore and we ran around and did some last-minute shopping and explored the town a bit. The shopping here was probably the best for all of our stops – and it was fun walking around the little town, even though it was VERY hot! After we went back to the ship we had dinner and then to the show “Broadway in Concert” where the singers sang some popular Broadway show tunes.

Some booths they had right at the dock area.

David and Adam exploring the booths – looking for t-shirts if I remember correctly

The area had a resort nearby – and the beach had a lot of bars and clubs set up across the way.
A lot of the homes had barred-in patios – we were told it would protect them from winds in bad storms.
Closer look at some of the bars
Susan found a sun-dress she liked and bought
The beach area – it’s supposed to be one of the nicest beaches in the Amazon.

We like to take photos in markets when we travel places – we just find it interesting…

Next up is three sea-days – one of the Amazon river and two in the Atlantic.
