San Juan, Puerto Rico

January 3, 2024 – San Juan Puerto Rico

San Juan is the capital city and most populous municipality in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States. As of the 2020 census, it is the 57th-largest city under the jurisdiction of the United States, with a population of 342,259. San Juan was founded by Spanish colonists in 1521, who called it Ciudad de Puerto Rico (“City of Puerto Rico”, Spanish for rich port city).

Today’s tour is called “City and Countryside” – we visited the San Cristobal Fort and then the guide pointed out points of interest and then we went to a location called Hacienda Campo Rico. The hacienda is on the grounds of a former sugar plantation which is now a tourist visiting location and locals also book the property for weddings and events.
